Ta Phrom

Ta Prohm is a small temple (55mx47m), in ruins and surrounded by the jungle, built under the reign of King Jayavarman VII according to the model of Bayon. It is located about 1km east of Angkor Thom, in the southern edge of the Eastern Baray. Inside the enclosure, there are many monastic buildings. It is the only one among all the monuments of Angkor site that has been left in a state close to its discovery in the beginning of the 10th century. It is still invaded by huge roots that give it its charm.
