Vietnam (officially the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) is an area of nearly 2,000 km from north to south and just 50km from east to west at its narrowest point. Its particular shape partly explains the history of the peoples who live there as well as their cultural differences. This beautiful country is at a natural crossroads between the end of the Himalayas in the north and the vast fertile plains of the Mekong River. It also has more than 2000 km of coastline. The country offers visitors an incredible diversity of landscapes and sensations.
