Kontum is a small city far from the beaten tracks. There are several interesting sites in town itself, and one of the sights not to be missed is its Wooden Church which is remarkable for its blending of local artistic tradition and Christian symbols. The city is surrounded by several minority villages. Each village has a “Rong”, a huge and impressive communal house where the villages gather for special occasions. This construction has its own architectural style, design, and décor depending on each ethnic group.
