Northern Vietnam

Hanoi, the capital city just turned 1000 years old in 2010. Even today, it is still the main port of entry to Vietnam and a gateway to the stunning northern regions. When visiting this part of the country, one will discover the traditional side of the destination. In the old streets of Hanoi, the visitor will meet herbalists, street sellors and discover ancestral handicraft techniques. A few days later, he will be sailing on a wooden junk in the middle of the unique landscapes of Halong Bay. Then, a night train may carry him to the beautiful highlands bordering China, where traditional ethnic markets take place almost everyday in hidden valleys. Northern Vietnam is an unforgettable part of Southeast Asia and probably one of the most authentic.
